The Japanese robots are widely dismissed

Saturday, August 1st, 2009

In the first quarter of 2009 the volumes of trade of robots for the industry have failed on 59 % in Japan. The reason of curtailment of production of robots became their lack of need in the Japanese industry which experiences the heaviest recession in the post-war history.

At Yaskawa factory where robots are made by other robots, only one mechanized employee is still working while its “colleagues” are set aside. According to the president of Yaskawa Koji Toshima, because of absence of orders the profit of the company has failed on two third — up to 72 million dollars. It is necessary to note that this company is the largest manufacturer of robotics in Japan.
Japan is the leader in the manufacture and use of robotics in the world.

In 2005 370 thousand of robots worked in the country— 40 % from total sum all over the world. On each thousand factory employees-people there were 32 robots.

In conditions of crisis when the Japanese industry reduced on 40 % in the first quarter of 2009, robots became the first victims of unemployment as, unlike employees-people they do not protest against dismissals and don’t demand the severance pay.

The need for robots has fallen not only in the industry, but also in life. In particular, the robots which help disabled people in everyday life and electromechanical assistants of the Japanese housewives began to have smaller demand too.

Crisis has forced the couturier to refuse extravagance in favour of a practicality

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

Week of Haute couture has opened in Paris. In the first day of Haute couture week participants discussed clothes of a season shown on a podium “spring-summer of 2010″ less often, then they discussed who from known designers would fall as a victim of a global economic crisis. Most likely, the French design house Cristian Lacroix, which recently declared bankruptcy and feverishly searches for the buyer, woun’t be able to go through the present financial shock.

“Collections of 1990 and 2000th years which differed refinement, individuality and staginess, have ended, - Quotes fashion designer Stefana Rolanda Reuters, - I am afraid, that now haute couture for designers is, first of all commercial success and quickly making profit clothes “.

Unequivocally, that crisis and the fallen lack of money forces fashion designers to create more often not truly exclusive and extravagant things, but clothes which will be in demand at potential buyers.
Already during display of Christian Dior’s collection many experts have paid attention that designer John Galjano use inexpensive and accessible materials, and there were no any revolutionary ideas.
Instead of extravagant dresses he has presented a mix from clothes and underwear. Silk blouses with shorts and stockings and magnificent skirts with leather belts and gloves - such haute couture is in this season from Christian. As a matter of fact, all clothes from a podium will not shock, if it appears in the street of a real city.

The general director of the House Sydni Toledano has declared to journalists:
The key element of a survival in present uneasy economic conditions is accurate and constant interaction between designers and managers of sales.

Toledano also has expressed hope, that despite the numerous difficulties, the conducting houses of haute couture will successfully go through crisis and remain in business.

According to experts, such weeks of a fashion are first of all excellent advertising for leading design brands. Not a secret, that the basic profit of company Dior and Giorgio Armani receive not from designers clothing collections, but from perfume and various accessories. In this connection some designers have already declared end of an era of creativity.

“In this sense it is possible to say, that there is no more any place to the art couturier. Now haute couture overall objective is to sell perfume, cosmetics, footwear and bags“, - the designer Franc Sorbier speaks Regretfully.

As to company Cristian Lacroix which has extremely strongly suffered from sharp decrease in sales from the beginning of June it is under six-monthly protection against creditors.
Whether the known French brand remain or not it will be clear by the end of July when term for giving of demands for acquisition of the fashionable house expires.

How computers can help us to stop hair loss

Monday, June 15th, 2009

I was really surprised reading the latest post from the Oxagile corporate blog - “Software for hair loss treatment: high-tech way to save beauty and dignity“. I knew that some people use special computer
programs for weight loss (they plan their ration, calculate calories etc.), but I didn’t know that software companies also developed applications for hair loss. Investigating this type of software in more details I even clarified that specialist from CSIRO presented a new program that can count every hair on human body.

POWER OF ADVERTISING

Monday, June 19th, 2006

The art of advertising is to persuade people to buy your product or service. This requires a basic understanding of psychology, the needs of human beings and how those needs can be satisfied.

An American psychologist, Abraham Maslow, has suggested, those needs can be compartmentalized and arranged in the form of a hierarchy.

At the lowest level people need food, shelter, warmth and sex.

When these needs are eagerly satisfied, people begin to think about the safety of themselves and their personal possessions. Squirrels, when they have had their fill of nuts, begin to bury nuts in their winter larders, human beings have the same tendency, much to the relief of the insurance companies. Insurance appeals to those who would feel the loss of personal possessions, through burglary, flood and fire, and those who seek pensions and financial security generally.

Even when a human being does not feel under threat at the safety level, a new need emerges according to Maslow. There is now a need to be approved by other people, a need for love and respect. The advertising industry finds this a very useful area for its machinations

«If you want people to look at you admiringly, or enviously, you have to wear Jay boy Jeans - no-one else’s will do! » That is the message, in effect.

Or the advertiser might be trying to persuade you to buy a new car. «This is the tastiest and the best sports car in the market. It is faster, sleeker, more enviable, than anything else in the world. If you haven’t got one, or don’t get one pretty soon, the rest of the world is going to see you as a dead duck! » :)

And when we are largely satisfied at this social level, according to Maslow we simply move on to egocentricity. We all have egos, but what is an ego? It is a love of self. We look into the mirror and hopefully like what we see. ;) Of course, that is not only in physical terms. We hunger for self-respect now that our lower level needs have been largely satisfied. That is another happy hunting-ground for the advertising agencies, for example «Diamonds are forever», or «Use Real Results from Diana Cosmetics! It fights wrinkles fast!»

According to Maslow the ultimate need is for fulfillment. This would no doubt come when we have all that the advertisers say we so desperately need. For most of us it seems that day will never come!

WHAT CAN GO WRONG WITH JOINT VENTURES?

Wednesday, June 14th, 2006

Partnering with another business can be complex. It takes time and effort to build the right relationship. Problems are likely to arise if:

the objectives of the venture are not 100 per cent clear and communicated to everyone involved;

there is an imbalance in levels of expertise, investment or assets brought into the venture by the different partners;

different cultures and management styles result in poor integration and co-operation;

the partners don’t provide sufficient leadership and support in the early stages.

Success in a joint venture depends on thorough research and analysis of aims and objectives. This should be followed up with effective communication of the business plan to everyone involved.

JOINT VENTURE AS A FORM OF INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

Tuesday, June 13th, 2006

A joint venture is a legal organization that takes the form of a short term partnership in which the persons jointly undertake a transaction for mutual profit. Generally each person contributes assets and share risks. Like a partnership, joint ventures can involve any type of business transaction and the “persons” involved can be individuals, groups of individuals, companies, or corporations.
Joint ventures are also widely used by companies to gain entrance into foreign markets. Foreign companies form joint ventures with domestic companies already present in markets the foreign companies would like to enter. The foreign companies generally bring new technologies and business practices into the joint venture, while the domestic companies already have the relationships and requisite governmental documents within the country along with being entrenched in the domestic industry.
The reasons behind the formation of a joint venture often include business expansion, development of new products or moving into new markets, particularly overseas.
Your business may have strong potential for growth, and you may have innovative ideas and products, but could still benefit from:

more resources;
greater capacity;
increased technical expertise;
established distribution channels.

Entering into a joint venture is a major decision. This guide introduces the advantages and disadvantages.
Businesses can often achieve unexpected gains through joint ventures with a partner. Businesses of any size can use joint ventures to strengthen long-term relationships or to collaborate on short-term projects.
A successful joint venture can offer:

access to new markets and distribution networks;
increased capacity;
sharing of risks with a partner;
access to specialized staff and technology.

A joint venture can also be very flexible. For example, a joint venture can have a limited life span and only cover part of what you do, thus limiting both your commitment and the business’ exposure.
Joint ventures are a popular form of co-operation between businesses in different countries in areas such as transport, tourism and hotels.

LAST DAYS AT MY UNIVERSITY…SUMMER HOLIDAYS - IN THE NEAR FUTURE!!!

Monday, June 12th, 2006

I will sit for my end-of-year examination this Monday. And I hope that I will pass it. Three more exams are left… :(

This year was very difficult, but at the same time very interesting for me. My favourite subject is Business English, it consists of different courses and this year we studied a new course called «Time Management». When I read its name for the first time in our timetable, I thought that it would be a usual lesson for improvement of our theoretical knowledge in the sphere of management, a lesson with a number of books and a lot of homework. It turned out, that I was wrong, but not in all…

We were offered a new method of teaching: we were teachers and pupils at the same time. And we didn’t lose this opportunity. We were given a chance to use all our knowledge and skills in practice – therein lays the most important thing. We understood what it is to be a teacher. We collected useful and interesting information, prepared our own lessons, tried to attract students’ attention, to make them speak and found out that it’s not easy. And as for volume of homework, I was right!

This course had its goals and there were some problems in their understanding, but now they are clear for every body. As I see them, the most important are:

to develop our skills as future leaders;

to teach us to speak in public;

to improve our language and spoken language;

to provide us with interesting and useful information;

to increase our vocabulary;

to make the atmosphere in the group more favorable;

to teach us listen an understand different views and thoughts of others.

It was new for us both in the information and knowledge we received, and in the way the lessons were conducted. Of course, sometimes the information wasn’t very interesting, it was too informative, or vise versa – it was simply uninformative. But we did our best! The lessons made us understand different views, thoughts of the group, combine them and to choose this or that way of solving the problem. Good talks in our group were due to the round table – the way our desks were situated – it made the atmosphere in the group more open and sincere. Sometimes the opinions of different members of the group didn’t coincide, but that made the lesson more interesting. They tried to convince the group in their «correct» standpoint.

The best lessons of course were conducted by those students, who were well informed of the subject they had to prepare and by those, who tried to combine theory with practice. The theory alone is only facts and it is very dull and it makes the lesson not interactive. Interaction was very important in the lessons of «Time management» and only interesting subject and different tasks could give it.

I hope that I will the opportunity to tell you about my own lesson, which I prepared for my group at university, but now unfortunately I’m pressed for time with my exams…:(

<:3 )~~~~

n the world shrinking with e-mail, fax, and teleconferencing, your single most critical factor for success in managing yourself and others is how well you develop and use your own personal ability to communicate. Men and women who most successfully profit from their ability to send and receive all kinds of information orally and in writing face-to-face, across a desk, before a group, around the world…
